nick sinna has been on the radars lately with his debut release for prime numbers pn13. sticking to the dark corners of the dance floor as of late, we have commissioned the spaced out bass child, conforce and spectrals secret weapon, jtc (aka dabrye) to add their touch with 2 remixes. conforce takes sinnas >real time< further down the worm hole, adding molten pressure to the percussion, and cutting up & reinforcing the vocal samples. while the acid warrior himself, jtc stays true to his roots on his rework of >voyager<, taking the edge off the snap and slicking the groove down to a more deep, melodic trip. pn13 has already received diverse support by the likes of ben klock, marcel dettman, dvs1 and mr. scruff.

preceding a full length album on 4lux, ka§par showcases his amazing talents on this second ep for 4lux. the portuguese producer comes with some of the most interesting dance music around. got good love is a tough deep house groover that comes as both original and with a nicholas remix. cruising andromeda is a futuristic techno tune for forward thinking deejays. on hyphen kaspar slows down the pace and tosses in some 707 action: a crazy ride with rough synths and spaced out effects. ka§pars releases have become rare and sought after, releasing little more than one 12inch a year in the recent past when one listens to the result, it only proves how great things take their time.

ig cultures holy rollers label comes correct with two fiery, teched-out funky bombs from major notes. the >o beasity ep< is his debut on holy roller and one of the freshest funky 12 inches we have heard in 2012 - not watered down or some tepid attempt at house proper. >rokit< works out some killer tribalist polyrhythms and batty-squeezing bass pressure laced with shades-on synth beams on the a-side, up there with the likes of funkystepz or ill blu, while >o beasity< gets overlarge on the flip, wrangling martial snares, tribal calls and hard-bodied bass with the ruffest intent.

butane continues to push his sound well beyond the frontiers of trendy dance music with >we are all cyborgs now<, his latest tour-de-force on his own alphahouse records imprint. apparently not interested in assimilation for the sake of popularity, he rather blazes his own wide-cut path towards artistry with two future-techno cuts rife with pointed commentary on the nature of todays dance music scene. >everybodys talkin< is a mutant hybrid of styles for the nostalgic types. latin percussion and bin-busting bass mingle with an ethereal voice lamenting the passing of the good old days. throw in one utterly twisted xylophone note that might just send a few partygoers over the edge for good, and you have an open air after-hours anthem in the making. >hey hipster< is a not-so-subtle jab at the newjack hipsters of the dance world who seem content to recycle old ideas, as long as they think they look cool doing it. deceptively simple, but carrying a heavy hook, the track features a grooving bassline, speaker busting synth stabs, and a brooding male voice admonishing these party parasites for their shallow ways. listen up kids, this is the sound of the underground. dont be fooled, this kind of music is best heard in big dark clubs where mirrors arent there for checking out your trendy haircut.

hotly anticipated does not really do justice to the level of excitement the release of reptile youths debut album is generating among fans and critics alike. those in the know are expecting the danish duo to deliver a defining moment of 2012 - injecting their off kilter brand of highly-charged electro-punk-pop into the worlds consciousness - and reptile youth aren’t in the business of disappointing. reptile youth was formed by mads damsgaard kristiansen and esben valløe in 2009. it was their intense period of gigging through asia and europe that earned reptile youth their radically evangelical fan base, while also prompting a string of superlative-laden reviews hailing the youth as the saviors of rock n roll. hype aside, the incredible energy generated by kristiansen and valløe and their extended live line up have made the arrival of this debut album a red letter day for their clued up followers

maurizio vitiello is now a regular artist in the metroline camp. his functional grooves have seen the light of day in various shapes and forms from the very early days all the way to the ultra-successful music on ep released in 2011.

considered by those in the know to be one of the founding fathers of dutch electronic music, rick van breugel makes returns to his rare electrick dragon alias for a superlative debut on the cyber dance imprint with space connection. hardly the most prolific of labels, cyber dance releases are invariably italo disco worthy of your attention and the three tracks here ensure this status quo remains! tough and rough, >night with you< finds room amidst the flexed drums and thick arpeggiated groove to drop some romantic italo vibes for the lovers out there, whilst some sort of odd laser fx on the two adds that extra degree of individuality to the gleefully effervescent exercise in constantly building joy that is the title track. final track >soon as the stars< is a production that could only have emerged from the lowlands, the ever present outer galactic synth work and subtle yet intricate tape saturated percussion complemented by key lines that spiral in and out of focus with hypnotic intent.

almost 25 years have past since his first release, yet >the true story of house music< is the first time elbee bads catalog gets compiled for re-release. although the best and most prolific part of his catalog is his late 80s and early 90s output, booker never stopped producing (and djing). he is currently residing in berlin, from which he still manages his studio and travels throughout europe to dj.
prior to the compilation we release a vinyl only sampler which features two exclusive and previously unreleased mixes of two tracks which are to be found on his only solo nu groove ep, from which we took the title of this compilation.
this is another winner from the true history of house music.

finally we have d.o.g regular tornado wallace onboard to provide a remix which takes the original into far deeper territory. tw drops the bpms, adds an arpeggiating marimba line and builds up the synths resulting in a late night vibe which compliments the vocal perfectly.

bokhari records is a vinyl only label. bokhari has been inspired by mo wax of old, and firecracker of present where care was/is also taken on packaging and design. each release will feature a different illustrator / artist for the design. a very strong and varied 12 for the second release from bokhari. 300 copies, vinyl only, and featuring wild 3d hand drawn artwork by nocturnal illustrator ben cook aka synthetics. siafus slunk dub starts proceedings with a slow, deep, languid house groove, propelled forward by a motoring bassline, murky acid grooves and insanely catchy keys. acid house survivor neville watsons remix is tinged with nostalgia. slow building mid-90’s piano riffs give way to a nagging acid groove and epic synths. retro futurism of the highest order. on the flip unknown croatian producer disrupted projects 1.2 is an infectious slab of ocean deep, grainy dub techno. drenched in warm bass and swimming in static - if basic channel had stepped it up a notch, this may have been the result. label owners siafu provide a dub mix utilizing a minitaur bass.

daniel stefanik is one of the techno and house newcomers of the last years. his carefreeness as a dj behind the decks and his likeable appearance are literally distinctive for a new generation of young, down-to-earth producers from germany, which are the result of the influence of väth, villalobos and hawtin on the one side, and solid but hedonistic house on the other. whereas many producers nowadays have dedicated themselves to only one musical direction, the influence of kerri chandler, chez damier or kevin saunderson is clearly noticeable in stefanik’s music. his longplay debut for cocoon recordings is a mirror of all these influences and yet it’s so up-to-date and contemporary like only few other techno and house albums today.

we keep the good-times rolling along on the kolour mothership with the debut ep of deep-disco don debonair. we have been taking notes on this guy since we heard his first tune and ever-since, he just seems to move from strength to strength with each tune that is released. needless to say, when the opportunity arose for us to debut his first full-on solo ep, it was the epitome of a no-brainer for us. debonair shows us all facets of his musical capability with a melting pot of music ranging from the traditional debonair deep-disco sound to slo-mo beat-down business, deep-fused funk, with a dash of beautiful baleric sprinkles for good measure.

following off from rejecteds successful summer they have hooked yet again some fresh new talent, dutch dj & producer mulder who steps up to take his place on the labels stellar stand of releases.

nice price deal !!! here comes a record that shouldnt have been released in the first place. who first started to circulate the cd-r with the blue inscription waiting for kim / we get high is totally unknown. the more known though, is who has been playing these two tracks, the one subtly uplifting, the other cranky dark, over the last few months. its still an unsolved riddle who is responsible for those two very divergent (but obviously coming from a single source productions. the fact that now these two tracks are coming out as a white label doesnt shed any more light on the affair either. but will please the dj and club world nonetheless.

sex tags mania warehouse find! this might not be one of those popular ware house finds you run into these days, but still, from a storage of a friend of a friend this got dug out. almost brand new but never sold in any amount - a german-french(?) 12 as great as the summer. straight to the b, you know that track you hear, not on any given sunday, but only the exeptionally good ones, the track that sonically floats around, though maybe being to euphoric, still gathers everybody in the area to some sort of silent agreement of peace. usually these musical pieces are found as single items on flee markets if you re a proper digger or have straight out beginners luck. maybe the world has turned up side down, because this beauty has german lyrics (with an instrumental following).
